I’d always thought that Queenstown needed a town tour, then while travelling the world I discovered the ‘Free’ tour concept.
I was born in Queenstown, and grew up in my family home right in downtown Queenstown. Growing up in this tourism town, filled with travellers, made for an easy decision to travel and work in the tourism industry. I’ve been a guide for 10 years, and I worked on the Routeburn and Milford Tracks for six seasons. I then spent time travelling overseas where I guided in Greece, before finally returning home to Queenstown to work at AJ Hackett Bungy, before starting my own town tour in December 2015.
My family have been in Queenstown since the 1920s, and my grandfather was a farmer up in Skippers, a remote and beautiful area tucked up behind Coronet Peak, near Queenstown.
My wife and I are passionate about sharing our love of Queenstown, and spreading our knowledge of the area. Before starting Free Walking Tours Queenstown I found myself often sharing information with travellers and helping them find their way around town. Starting the first free walking tour in Queenstown seemed the perfect next step . . .
